Spice Universe has somehow acquired some major inside information on Melanie C's upcoming appearances and promotions. It is basically a PR schedule/report! This is like 20 news stories in one. Here it is:

Additional Notes

• The 30 minute electronic press kit will be shown on cable in the New York and Los Angeles DMAs just prior and for two weeks following the tour dates.
• An e-mail has been sent out to the Spice Girls e-mail list (approximately 70,000 people) noting the album release, web-site information and tour dates. There will be updates sent on events as the project develops. Next e-mail will include information on the Letterman appearance and other television exposure.
• A generic 12" of Goin' Down b/w Ga Ga is being serviced in Los Angeles and New York prior to her showcase dates. These are being sent to clubs, college radio and lifestyle outlets. A color sleeve version of this 12" will be serviced wide on October 1st. It will go out to clubs, college radio and lifestyle outlets.
• Goin' Down is being featured on MusicVideos.com in order to set up the tour dates. Teen.com will be airing the video beginning the week of the 20th of September.

Millenium Single

The Spice Girls among man other artists will participate in a charity single which is purposely targetted to be the first chart topper in the year 2000. The song will be a cover of the Rolling Stones' 1974 hit "Only Rock N' Roll". The Spice Girls have reportedly already recorded their line of the song. The song will be performed by over 20 artists, each with their own line. Kind of like a "We Are The World" single. Other artists participating in the song include Annie Lennox, Chrissie Hynde, James Brown, Fun Lovin' Criminals, and Jon Bon Jovi.

Pure Naughty

Looks like Emma isn't the only Spice Girl with a television program. Scary Spice Melanie G has started a show called entitled Pure Naughty. The show airs on BBC2 starting this Sunday at 12.30pm! Melanie proclaims that the show will live up to it's raunchy name. She has hand picked a guest line up for her show of hunks that she has the hots for! Melanie said:

"You can window shop when you are married, but you just can't buy. I'm happily married, but everyone looks. I think you'd be repressed if you didn't look."

These guests include Wesley Snipes, Dru Hill, and Method Man. Mel additionally reveals that the later two will be working with her on her upcoming album. Mel said a bit more about the show:

"There might be some cheekiness. I'm not exactly as straight as a die. The show's gonna have a bit of fun and a bit of whatnot."

Emma TrackHer

Emma Bunton was recently seen partying the night away at London's Emporium night club celebrating the debut of her VH1 show(Story). She was with her rumored boyfriend, football(soccer) player Rio Ferdinand.

Spice Financial Report

Even though the Spice Girls have had a quiet year, they have still grossed around £30 million. The Spice Girls have each pocketed about £6 million this year. The girls financial structure is very well laid out. They each have their own company. For example, Victoria's company is called Moody Productions. Each of the girls companies are paid by a company named Spice Girls Ltd. for their services. Spice Girls Ltd. is the main collector of the money that the Spice Girls make. Every artist has a company. However the way the Spice Girls do it with each having their individual company stemming from Spice Girls Ltd. saves them a lot of money by avoiding a lot of taxes while keeping everything legal and not being tax exiles. The Spice Girls have now successfully beaten the "golden oldies" on the income list. The people who dominated the list which are now under the Spice Girls on it include Sir Elton John, Sting, and Eric Clapton.

Melanie G was asked about this report and she said the figures stating that they made £6 million each are false and quite exagerrated.

MelC Is Not A Lesbian

For anyone that still has any doubts or didn't hear any of her previous comments on the topic, Melanie C spoke to the press today and when asked about her sexuality yet again she said the following:

"I do not like women in that way. It is true there is no man in my life at the moment. But there is no woman in my life either. I only like women as friends. I am straight."

MelC World Tour Underway

Melanie C has kicked off her world tour tonight in Liverpool! No details yet on how the show went, but she did speak to the press a bit before the show. Melanie is nursing a cold and is upset that she is missing an important football(soccer) game of her beloved Liverpool team. Mel said:

"I'm gutted I'm missing the match. I can't believe it's the same night as the derby. I mean, whose bad planning was that, eh?"

However, one positive aspect of tonight's performance is that it is for a warm Liverpool home crowd. Melanie said that none of the songs on her upcoming album Northern Star were inspired by either Geri Halliwell or Robbie Williams. She also denied reports that she is living as a tax-exile saying:

"I'm quite happy to pay my taxes. I have got enough money, I want to give it to people who haven't."

Melanie also said that the other Spice Girls have given her their blessing for her whirlwind tour and that all the Spice Girls are very supportive of each other's solo projects.

A Scary Model

Melanie G made a surprise appearance a few times on the runway on the second full day of London Fasion Week! She modeled the designs of her friend Julien MacDonald. Here is a picture of Mel working the catwalk(notice MelC cheering her on in the background!), and here is another picture of Mel at the end of the show with designer Julien MacDonald and supermodel Kate Moss.

Finally one of the girls does this! I couldn't understand how such beautiful women weren't modeling in the first place! You'd think at least Victoria would have done this before, at least back in the day if not now.

Anorexic Posh

Victoria is once again getting accused of being anorexic after arriving to a party a few nights ago in a low-cut silver top and looking stunningly thin. Victoria last night fiercely denied the rumors. Her spokeswoman said:

"She eats loads and loads, five packets of crisps a day sometimes. She has looked thin in a couple of pictures but there are no worries about her health."

Victoria says she does not diet and detestes the gym. She credits her thin figure to her hectic lifestyle, doing 200 sit-ups a night with her husband, and eating lots of fish. Victoria herself said:

"It's irresponsible to say I'm dieting and anorexic. After a baby you are dashing about all day. I never have a chance to sit down."

Victoria was reported to be in tears when she saw the angle pictures that were printed of her looking thinner then normal with stories accusing her of being anorexic. Victoria's mother commented:

"Victoria was so hurt. She was crying when she saw the stories. The picture was distressing. But there were others taken at the same time in which she looked fine. It did look dreadful, didn't it? But she is perfectly healthy. She loves her food, especially Marks & Spencer food, and tins of mango and lychee. I see her in the mornings eat two bowls of cereal and then go off to work. Victoria is working very hard, AND she's looking after a baby. She's not breastfeeding now. She did that for a few weeks, but she's not doing it anymore. Victoria's sister is a size eight, I'm a size 10 so she's not going to be huge."

ARIA Awards

Melanie C will be presenting an award at the 13th annual ARIA Awards. This award show is Australia's biggest music award show. It will be hosted by Paul McDermott & Bob Downe, and will be telecast nationally by the Ten Network. The show airs at 7.30pm on Tuesday, October 12.

More On The Williams/Chisholm Fling

More info about the earlier story about Melanie C admitting that she had a romantic liason with Robbie Williams. In another interview, Melanie has revealed that the fling began in late 1997 when both of them were in America. Williams later began stepping out with All Saint Nicole Appleton. The two girls are now friends and always give him a hard time whenever they see him!

Robbie is quite the pimp isn't he? heheh

No More Sweets For Baby

Emma was at the Disney Awards ceremony a few days ago and showed off her new slimmer figure. She has lost a stone in 30 days after cutting down on junk food. She reportedly decided to do it because she saw photographs of herself from April and thought she looked a little overweight. Emma said:

"I've cut out junk food and I feel great. I haven't got a personal trainer or anything like that, it's just eating less fatty foods. I'm not one of those health freaks. I think you have to enjoy yourself as well."

Emma also was asked about her solo collaboration with Tin Tin Out for the single "What I Am", (which is now due for release on November 1st) and how it would interfere with Spice Girls. Emma responded:

"The Spice Girls are not over. We're going to be here for a very long time."

On Whitney Houston's last british concert date of her current tour she met up with Victoira & David Beckham along with Emma Bunton at Wembly Arena.

Journey Into Spice

Well it seems that the old Disney Spice Girls animated movie is not dead after all.(Story) Work on it is underway again. The title of the movie will be Journey Into Spice. It is a direct spin-off parady of Star Wars. The storyline in the movie is that the Spice Girls are putting on a concert in space, that will be watched by the entire world. The girls encounter an enemy tribe that attempts to wipe them out. The movie climaxes with a thunderous space battle while everyone on Earth watches on giant screens. Apparently Melanie G is really pushing this project as she is a huge Star Wars fan. There are even roles in the movie for baby Brooklyn and Phoenix.

Am I the only person NOT looking forward to this?

Paranoid Posh

Victoria admits that she is a paranoid mother. She is a huge supporter and help to the Meningitis Research Foundation and is now promoting the new Baby Watch program, which aims to educate new mothers about the warning signs and symptoms of the brain disease, the single biggest killer of children under the age of five in the UK. When asked about her thoughts on the project and her own baby boy Brooklyn, she had the following comments:

This campaign is hugely important. As a new mother your child's health is your priority and Brooklyn's health is very important to me. It would be a nightmare if anything happened to him. I am an absolutely paranoid mother. I want to check that Brooklyn is okay all the time, I can't help myself. He is teething at the moment and has a runny nose and meningitis is the first thing you think about."

When asked if she and her husband David Beckham were getting a good night's sleep with the baby she laughed and replied:

"Brooklyn is awake all through the night every single night, that is why I have got bags under my eyes!"

MelC in Liverpool Documentary

Melanie C has contributed her voice to a BBC Radio 1 documentary on Liverpool, and it's effect on the ever changing music scene in the UK. The documentary will be broadcast on October 18 and is designed to act as a promotion and scene setter for the week long Sound City music event in Liverpool. Melanie commented about her contribution:

"I don't go back to Liverpool very often but I know there's an incredible vibe there. I'm excited to be involved in a programme that takes a positive look at my home city."

MelC Wants A Baby?

RUMOR WARNING

Sporty Spice has admitted to not having a proper intimate relationship with anyone since the start of Spice Girls. She additionally admits that she is already interested in having a baby. She fears that she is running out of time for meeting someone since she is already 25. Mel said:

"I've not had a proper boyfriend since the Spice Girls began," Mel, 25, tells The Big Issue. Any bloke I ever meet, it always goes wrong, I just get bored. Maybe it's me being a bitch, but I've got such an exciting life it's hard to find someone. There's nobody I even fancy. I'd have a baby without being married. I'm not a strong believer in marriage. I come from a broken home and it does put a dampener on things. I'm 25 and my clock's ticking."

Keep in mind that this is all rumor and from a tabloid.

RUMOR WARNING

If you ask me it sounds pretty fake, sure she's looking for a guy, but just a couple months ago she expressed that she really wasn't interested in having children any time soon.

Victoria has gotten together with Star Wars star Ewan McGregor to launch a new meningitis awareness program. The Baby Watch drive calls on parents to "trust their instincts" when they fear their baby is unwell. Cases of meningitis and related diseases are at a 23 year high in Ewan's home country of Scotland. Ewan's three year old daughter almost died from the disease. Ewan said:

"I can't stress how important it is that parents understand how this disease can affect a baby."

A Sporty New Car

Melanie C has just purchased a brand new BMW Z3 sports car. She splashed out £36,000 on the car. It features a powerful 2.8-litre motor and lots of optional extras.

MelC Tour Update: London

I don't know if this is 100% accurate, but there have been some reports that tickets for Melanie C's November 1st London gig at the Astoria are on sale right now. England fans can call 0171 434 0403 for tickets. I haven't been able to confirm it myself though, please send info if you have any.

DotMusic MelC Interview

Melanie C met up with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers once again, this time during the Pepper's stay in Leeds, England where they put on a concert.

MelC is 8th Hottest In Showbiz

The latest issue of Heat Magazine(UK) has the 100 hottest(as in popularity) celebrities according to a poll done by "industry experts" and the such. The list is topped by Mike Myers and Melanie C comes in at #8! The only other Spice Girl who makes the list is Melanie G, who comes in at #45.

New Spice Girls Concert

The BBC reports that Spice Girls will put on a performance next July in Cardiff, Wales at the new Millenium Stadium. The new stadium has 72,500 seats and is expected to be their largest concert yet, beating out their 60,000 seat Wembly Stadium concert which took place last year. There is also a rumor that Spice Girls are planning a summer tour 2000! Perhaps the most interesting tidbit about this Cardiff concert is that Cardiff is the first place the Spice Girls sang in front of an audience. Four years ago the Spice Girls performed as unknowns in front of Cardiff City Hall for a crowd of about 1000 people who cheered them on!

Sporty Sworn At After Geri Bash

Melanie C was heckled and sworn at by the live audience on the ITV(UK) show CD:UK. On the show Melanie was interviewed and she commented on former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell's voice saying:

"I don't like her voice. I'm not being horrible, I'm just honest."

However the show's audience which consisted of mainly teenage girls shouted and swore at her. One girl shouted: "She has a **** better voice than you!" (The exact swear word used is not clear). Geri Halliwell has gained popularity in the UK with her recent #1 single "Mi Chico Latino". The show was broadcast live and after the battery from the audience Mel reacted simply by saying:

"It's just a personal opinion, you're allowed to have your own opinion."

MelC Tour Updates: LA, UK, Munich

More new information about Mel C's recently announced World Tour:

Los Angeles Fans: I called Ticket Master and they don't have any info about it yet. Mayan Theatre confirms it but says to get tickets from Ticket Master, and says they should be on sale two or three weeks prior to the concert, which is on October 7th.

Liverpool Fans: It has been revealed that Melanie C will start her tour in Liverpool! She will be performing there on September 27th at the Royal Court. No ticket info yet.

London Fans: Opposite of Liverpool, you will be the last stop on Melanie C's short world tour. Melanie will perform at the Astoria in in London on November 1st, her final concert on this tour.

Munich Fans: Melanie C will be performing in Munich on October 20th. I don't have any venue or ticket info yet but keep checking back!

MelC Autographs For Charity

Many of the performers at this year's V99 Music festival signed plagues from their dressing room doors to be auctioned off on eBay this week. The proceeds will be donated to a Down's Syndrome charity. The autographs of James Brown, Spice Girl Mel C, and the Manic Street Preachers will all go under auction this week at eBay.

Emma & Rio Ferdinand?

RUMOR WARNING

Word on the street is that 20 year old soccer star Rio Ferdinand has fallen in love with Emma! The two have been spotted out together recently at several restaurants and night clubs after they met at London's Emporium nightclub last month with mutual friends Mel B, Ryan Giggs, and newly-weds Victoria Adams and David Beckham. Emma apparently told The Sun:

"There is no romance yet. I am young, free and single and having fun. But I've met Rio a few times as we share the same friends, he's a nice guy."

Northern Star Track Listing

Jam! Music, a canadian music site, reports the entire track listing for Melanie C's upcoming solo album Northern Star to be as follows:

This seems significantly innacurate however due to the lack of many previously mentioned songs such as "Go", "Follow", "Soul Believer", "Be the One", and "Make Me High". It was also previously reported that there will be 12 songs on the album and this list only shows 10. The only way it could possibly be accurate is if they decided to cut two of the songs off the album, and all the missing songs are now going to be b-sides & soundtrack recruits... and somehow I doubt it.

New York Fans: For ticket information concerning the New York City Melanie C performance you can call NYC Ticket Master at (212)307-7171, or get them directly at Irving Plaza noon through 6pm Monday through Friday, and until 4pm on Saturday. The number for Irving Plaza is (212)777-6800.

Tokyo Fans: Melanie C will be performing there at The Garden Hall in Ebisu, Tokyo on October 14 @ 7pm local time! No ticket info available yet.

Mobo Again?

RUMOR WARNING

Wyclef Jean is rumored to be potentially hosting this year's MOBO Awards which celebrate black music. They are held in October at London's Royal Albert Hall. Melanie G co-hosted last year's awards if you recall. The rumor is that Wyclef is keen of Melanie B and would like her to co-host again if he gets the role. Other potential hosts instead of Wyclef include Lenny Kravitz and Trevor Nelson.
