Press Conference Setup Video
Here is a rather entertaining clip. It is after the girls were introduced to the press and getting ready for the press conference. It includes the girls chatting among themselves and Mel B helping an injured journalist.

More Info About Upcoming Documentary
The reunion tour documentary will be two hours long and directed by Bob Smeaton, who also directed the 1995 Beatles documentary The Beatles Anthology.

British television stations BBC & ITV are apparently in a bidding war for the rights to the documentary.

Emma's Baby Excited At Press Conference
The extremely pregnant Emma Bunton told BBC Radio 1 that her very-soon-to-be-born baby "was kicking loads during the conference. I've been eating a lot of cake during the final stages, but I suppose that's natural!"

Thanks EmilyStrange.

Ah yes, nice to see that she still is the good ol' Baby Spice!

News And Notes From The Press Conference
In case you haven't watched the entire Spice Girls Reunion press conference, some interesting notes from the conference include:
  • The girls talking about possibly recording new material.

  • They will be performing songs from Forever on the tour.

  • Stating that the purpose of this reunion is for the fans and to give the "proper goodbye" that they never did.

  • The girls are open to adding more shows if there is enough demand.

  • Mel C getting back at Daily Mail reporter Richard (Littlejohn?) for his article stating that the girls will be using new technology to make their voices on tune. The satisfying exchange occurred after Richard identified himself to ask a question:

Mel C: I've got a bone to pick with you Mr. Daily Mail.
    Richard: Yes?
Mel C: Was it your article yesterday about that new technology that we're using to make our voices on tune?
    Richard: That's correct, yeah
Mel C: What.. a load.. of shit.

She was followed up by the other girls critisizing the Daily Mail's articles about them in general.

Spice Girls Reunited!
The Spice Girls have reunited!! After months of rumors, all five original Spice Girls are back together. They held a press conference today at London's O2 arena at which they announced an 11 city world-tour. Check the tour dates and how to get tickets at their new website: thespicegirls.com. They have posted the following message on their site:
Hey everybody!! We're back!! Can you believe it!!

We've come together for an exclusive World Tour and this is the only place to register your details online! Just click the link below, choose which city you want to see us in, and fill in your information. Who knows if this will ever happen again, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity! To make it fair, we will randomly pick who gets to buy tickets. This is a chance for you, our real fans to come and see us - the last chance to dance!

Girl Power is back and stronger than ever. What are you waiting for.....

Lots of love

Emma, Geri, Mel B, Mel C, Victoria

They are truly going back to their roots, as they are partnered together once again with 19 Entertainment and Simon Fuller. The Spice Girls do not at this point plan to release any new material and say that they're getting back together for nostalgic purposes. They do not intend to stay together after the tour--Geri describes this as a probable one-time moment and it's "now or never", further describing the reunion akin to a one night stand. Victoria said: "For us we're celebrating the past, we're going to do a small tour and then that's probably going to be it."

They will, however, be releasing a greatest hits album to coincide with the tour, as well as a tv documentary. Rumors are already circulating that if the tour is successful, new material could follow, but Mel C has strongly stated in a recent interview that she does not want to record new Spice Girls material. In response to questions about her previously strong resistance to getting back together with the group at all, Mel C said: "A girl's allowed to change her mind. This is something that we've only seriously started discussing this year. We wanted to say thank you to our fans. It just feels very right for us."

The girls made some humerous comments regarding their old wardrobe. Mel B: "I will be wearing leopard skin and Geri will have her Union Jack dress on." and Mel C chimed in with "I want to wear my tracksuit again. I will be going down the market looking for a shell suit." Though there was some seriousness mixed in as Mel C then said "Hats off to our characters." Victoria added: "We didn't know what we would all be wearing, but we look the same as we used to. We still have the same images and they haven't really changed."

The girls are rumored to be getting cool few million dollars each for this tour.

Enough talk, time for some media!! Videos:

Wow.. personal comments to come in a future post as it's late and I'm very tired after all this. For now I'll just say that damn, I had no idea I'd be updating and getting this site back in order today for the first time in 5+ years. Well, welcome back everybody :-) And welcome back Spice Girls!
